That day you felt country and were frustrated as the questions people asked spoke of their ignorance. It’s a simple truth few recognise. You looked at the girl who was afraid of being alone when she was walking a tightrope across the canyon for the thoughts in her head were too loud to hear the music. You looked down at the salt and wondered how she managed to get paint in so many places. The last time you saw her, she said “I’m taken care of” and you thought “all cars should have cup holders.”
Broken Hands

We know we may never be alright again as we blindly continue down this winding path. Looking back, we pinpoint exactly what brought us to this moment and wonder if we have any strength in us at all. We’re not sure if we’ll make it out alive anymore. Here I stand with my empty hand outstretched toward the sky, waiting for nothing. We say do a backwards coupe and everyone goes the wrong direction. We all fall into disaster with one foot forward, following with complete faith. Our words are skewed, we say them with no knowledge of the implications. Things we once knew and lived with are now gone, but not forgotten. Everyday we wear masks, hiding our eyes.
